Resources from the "Strengthening Families of Incarcerated Fathers" workshop held at the 2008 Minnesota Fathers and Families Network Conference:

Here are the resources I offered to send people at the end of our workshop at the conference:

The Families in Focus curriculum. This is a parenting curriculum developed by the Council on Crime and Justice for use in prisons. It is 12 sessions long, with each session lasting 2 hours. Feel free to use portions or all of the curriculum. What I ask is that you let me know how you use it, and what feedback you have about the curriculum. (pdf format)

Families in Focus Pre-Class Evaluation Survey;
Families in Focus Post-Class Evaluation Survey
We use these surveys as part of our evaluation of the prison parenting classes. Again, feel free to use this survey or portions of it, and please let us know how you use it and the feedback you have.

2006 Families in Focus Evaluation Repor
t: This is a report of the pre/post evaluation survey results from our prison parenting classes in 2005.

Twin Cities Felony Friendly Resource List: A directory of local agencies and programs that serve people coming out of prison. If you have updates or additions, please let me know.

Staying Strong and Staying Connected: A handbook for families and friends of those incarcerated in Minnesota State Correctional Facilities

Twin Cities Resource List for Families of Incarcerated Individuals: A similar directory, but with a focus on families. We are in the process of updating this one.

List of Parenting Education Being Offered in Minnesota Correctional Facilities: I made this list a couple years ago. It is incomplete, and not entirely up to date. I'd also welcome corrections and additions for this.

Thank you,
