This patio doubles as the enclosed playground for Friends School at San Ignacio. In the vacation period during which we visited, it doubled as a nice place to sit and see the stars or hang up wet clothes.

With only one week before Teachers' Workshops and the end of the Nov. to Jan. Salvadoran school vacations, Jose Alberto, director of San Ignacio Friends School, has lots on his mind besides showing foreign visitors around!

Lorena, on the left, is a part of the San Ignacio church, and is married to Jose Alberto.  Lorena must live away from home Monday through Friday, due to her work at a distant public school . She delights in her garden on weekends. Betsy asks about some native plants.
